Is it possible to cancel a safari in Uganda? Yes it is and I’m not advocating for it however cancellations actually do happen. Tourists do cancel out their tours due to several reasons, it could about  not having enough money-some tourists may fail to get the rest of the money, it could be something work-related-you might assume that you shall pick up a leave and all of the sudden it becomes impossible and many other issues. Always try to ensure that you avoid cancellation by preparing in time and verifying everything to ensure that nothing stands in your way. Duration of the cancellation

Cancellations are always categorized depending on when you cancel. There are tourists who cancel 5 weeks before their safaris, others two weeks and others days-since cancellation is never in anyone’s interest, it just happens. You should know the period before your trip to the cancellation day because you refund shall largely depend on that. There are certain period before your tour where if you cancel, you might not even receive a penny. Actually when you cancel a safari, there are high chances that you shall never get the same amount as you paid.  And worse, if the government is involved-the government sells park entrance fee and so if you decide to cancel, the tour operator might end up going into those offices and ask for a refund on your behalf however the refund might end up delaying depending on the different steps to follow before refunding you.

I guess that one of the reasons why the cancellation policy was set up is to help you determine under what circumstances you are supposed to be paid and under which, you shall not be paid. Not paying can cause such a diverse effect on a tourist as he/she shall feel cheated. However, for most of those money payback policies, money is always given back to the tourists

Who is responsible for the refund?

It wouldn’t sound normal and nice for you to start attacking the tour operator that they refund you money which was meant for your accommodation. If the tour operator already booked a particular accommodation, it shall be the responsibility of the hotel or lodge to refund back. All the tour operator shall do is to give them the power to decide. Sometimes, tour operators offer great packages to those who decide to cancel for some reasons; it is likely that the tour operator shall replace the cancelled tour with another as long as the tourist is still interested in coming to Uganda.
